Haggen grocery expansion hits snags, faces Albertson's lawsuit

DUI case deferred for former Ferndale public works director
Bellingham Herald - A former Ferndale public works director arrested for driving under the influence, then fired by the city, is now on deferred prosecution. Bellingham police said Chad Bedlington, 41, tried to start a car while holding an open can of beer around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4. Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions to hire 1,400 full- and part-time employees in Southern California
The Orange County Register - Albertsons has sued Haggen for $41 million over inventory that changed hands when the Bellingham-Wash.-based chain bought 146 Albertson's stores earlier this year. Workers at the Haggen Laguna Beach location put new price tags on items during a conversion from Albertsons in March. Read more...
