Portland Tribune - I wish you had provided more detail concerning skepticism about the TPP. Why did the cities of Seattle and Bellingham which, like Portland, are trade dependent on the Pacific Rim, unanimously pass resolutions opposing fast tracking the TPP? Why do a dozen major trade unions oppose fast tracking this trade pact that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce claims will create 'hundreds of thousands of new American jobs'? Sen. Teachers to protest school funding, proposed bill with 1-day strike
HeraldNet - Teachers in the Arlington, Lakewood and Stanwood-Camano school districts are planning one-day strikes and rallies this week protesting what they say is a lack of funding for schools and legislation they think would hinder learning. An estimated 2,600 teachers from eight districts throughout the state are participating in walkouts, according to the Washington Education Association , the teachers union. Read more...

Thousands of Washington teachers prepare for 1-day strike
KOMO News - Tens of thousands of students and parents are learning that school will be canceled for a day this week as teachers all over Washington stay home to protest school funding issues being debated by lawmakers. The teachers, all members of the Washington Education Association, say they are fed up with state lawmakers not fulfilling the obligation set forth by the State Supreme Court to adequately fund state schools, which is known as the McCleary decision. State Democrats spurn 2016 presidential primary, stick with caucuses
Seattle Post-Intelligencer - The state Democratic Party has decided to stick with precinct caucuses in picking the party's 2016 presidential nominee, spurning an appeal from Secretary of State Kim Wyman for a primary in which voters would get a voice.
