Buckley officer's leg broken during struggle with sex offender
Seattle Times - TV reports that it happened about 6:30 a.m. Friday when the officer went to serve a warrant at a residence near the intersection of Mountain View Avenue and South Division Street. Buckley Police Chief Jim Arsanto told the station the suspect attacked the officer, and police are now looking for the suspect, who managed to escape. Read more...

Guilty plea in crash that fatally injured pastor on bike
KHQ-TV Spokane - A 19-year-old Washington woman has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in a traffic crash that fatally injured a bicycling pastor last Nov. 24. The News Tribune reports that Pierce County Deputy Prosecutor Tim Jones said Kallie James of Buckley entered her plea Wednesday in the death of Pastor Eric Renz of Puyallup. Jones says that as part of her plea, the woman admitted she was impaired by drugs when she ran a stop sign and hit Renz. Read more...
