Local Judge worried about 'significant increase' in domestic violence cases
The Waterland Blog - Judge Veronica Alicea-Galvan last week told the Des Moines City Council her court recently has had a large increase in both domestic violence and drunk driving cases. 'Stop spending our money' say Marina tenants to Des Moines City Council
The Waterland Blog - The Des Moines Marina fund has for several years been used to supplement money in the city's general fund and now Marina tenants are pushing for this to stop before the facility is doomed before its time. With the cut of a ribbon, a new legal pot store officially opens in Des Moines
The Waterland Blog - On Saturday just after Noon, a ribbon cutting ceremony officially opened the first legal pot store in Des Moines, as Greenside Recreational opened for business at 23407 Pacific Highway South. Kent Reporter - The Des Moines Police made four arrests Thursday in connection with squatters at vacant homes in Kent, Renton, SeaTac and Federal Way. The Des Moines Police served search warrants at homes in the 25100 block of 23rd Place on Kent's West Hill; 4400 block of South 176th Street in SeaTac; 16400 block of Southeast 174th Street in Renton; and the 1400 block of Southwest Dash Point Road in Federal Way, according to a Des Moines Police media release. King County Council approves vital links to Lake to Sound Trail
The Waterland Blog - Legislation linking an important segment of the 'Lake to Sound Trail' that will connect the cities of Burien, Renton, Tukwila, SeaTac and Des Moines received unanimous approval by the Metropolitan King County Council on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The legislation, sponsored by Councilmember Dave Upthegrove, was approved by the Council at its Oct. 20 meeting.
