Jail budget down with new facility, says police chief
The Normandy Park Blog - The city's first homicide in 28 years and a new and less expensive jail facility in nearby Des Moines were the major points in Normandy Park Police Chief Chris Gaddis' third annual report to the City Council on Tuesday evening. Gaddis, chief for three years following the retirement of Chief Rick Kieffer, said the city jail budget was lowered from $62,000 in 2013 to $38,000 mainly because of the new SCORE jail in Des Moines built and financed cooperatively by seven South King County cities.
