Jerry's View: Numb butt the brave
The Highline Times - It was like a movie. A comedy, I think, now that I recall the decision to take the kids to Disneyland in the summer of 1955. With school out, we had to think fast on keeping the kids busy. Riding for thousands of miles in a 1951 Chrysler sedan was not our first choice. Seattle to Los Angeles (remember, there was no freeway then!) is no small feat with four kids and their mother. Just imagine the number of things we had to take with every kid 13 or younger, down to age 4--all boys. GA_googleAddSlot("ca-pub-4956332358238235",... Letter: Sewer district buys brother's share of property
The Highline Times - The Highline Times stories about this Wrangling over the Road has a lot greater following than I thought. Dozens of people I don't know or haven't seen for years are asking questions about it. "Oh, you're that guy I read about in the Highline Times..." It's clear the Highline Times has reached deep into the communities. People are upset with the abuse of government and municipal power already. This is a "poster child" case. This situation has become a serious ethics question. The Southwest Suburban Sewer District historically hasn't kept its written agreements, promises or word with my... Letter: Candidate left off Burien newsletter
The Highline Times - This Wednesday, the city of Burien sent out a newsletter to its approximately 48,000 residents and on the front page of that newsletter, it failed to list me as a candidate for council. The information for who is running in the Council election comes directly from the King County Elections website. So I find it strange that my name was excluded from the list shown in the city newsletter. When I called the city for an explanation, they couldn't explain why this error had occurred and they did refuse to send out a mailing correction for their error. Now the dilemma here is that the city does... [ Please visit The Highline Times and Des Moines News for the full coverage. ] Read more...
