Snoqualmie Valley Trail segment closed all summer between Duvall and Carnation
Biking Bis - Repairs to flood protection structures on the Snoqualmie River between Duvall and Carnation will force a closure on the popular Snoqualmie Valley Trail between now and Oct. 31. The closure runs between 1-1/2 miles south of Northeast 124th Street on the north and 2 miles north of the Stillwater Natural Area trailhead parking lot in the south. Washington State Barn Fire Kills Two Horses
The Horse - Duvall, Washington, Fire Chief David Burke said firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a barn in Duvall early on April 13. One Miniature Horse died in the blaze, Burke said, while five other horses were rescued. While the fire's cause remains under investigation, Burke said the site of the blaze was an outbuilding that contained appropriate wiring and electrical outlets; "That kind of wiring is not something we see often," he added.
