First Hill Streetcar Is Slow but Aesthetically Satisfying
The Stranger - Though the new streetcar from Pioneer Square to Capitol Hill is not fast, and frequently gets caught in the traffic that thickens between 12th Avenue South/South Jackson Street and Broadway/East James Way, it still has the virtue, as a riding experience, of being more aesthetically pleasing than an automobile or a bus. 4 struck in early morning hit-and-run crash in Seattle
KNDU - Four pedestrians were struck early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run crash in downtown Seattle. Some of the victims were thrown into the air at Denny Way and Aurora Avenue when hit by the car around 1:30 a.m. Police say the driver was going through an intersection at about 40 mph when her car jumped a curb, went onto the median in front of the Elephant Car Wash and hit four pedestrians. First Hill pavement parks success means more this year in Seattle
Capitol Hill Times Police Blotter - The success of two Pavement to Parks pilot projects in First Hill has the Seattle Department of Transportation planning four more to come online this year to address a lack of public space in the city. Through a partnership with the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation, the Seattle Parks Foundation and First Hill Improvement Association, two pavement parks were constructed in July using right of way space at Ninth Avenue between University and Seneca streets and at the intersection of University, East Union and Boylston Avenue.
