Danger below? Oil trains use 105-year-old tunnel below Seattle
KOMO News - A train carrying up to three million gallons of highly flammable Bakken crude oil runs right under downtown Seattle through a century-old tunnel that does not meet modern safety standards, according to BNSF Railway and Seattle fire officials. Seattle's Assistant Fire Chief Alan Vickery said the dramatic increase in the amount of oil being shipped by rail is creating a new risk facing downtown Seattle unlike anything they've ever seen. Ferguson protest march planned for Westlake Park, Seattle Central Community College Monday evening
Business Journal - A group called "Justice for Mike Brown " - named for the unarmed black teenager killed earlier this year in Ferguson, Missouri - will hold a rally and march on Monday evening beginning at Westlake Park in downtown Seattle. The group announced its plans via Facebook and Twitter Monday and indicated the march will happen regardless of whether the grand jury in Missouri decides to indict Darren Wilson , the police officer who shot and killed Brown.
