Birmingham Botanical Gardens rescheduled Spencer Lecture set for May 12
Alabama Live - Seats remain available for Birmingham Botanical Gardens' rescheduled Spencer Lecture now set for Tuesday, May 12. Weather issues forced the Gardens to postpone the free, annual event featuring botanist Dan Hinkley back in March. Hinkley, director and co-founder of Heronswood Garden in Kingston, Wash, will share his talk, "The Life and Times of a Modern Day Plant Hunter" at 6:30 p.m. He will greet guests with a light reception beforehand beginning at 5:30 p.m. The talk will lead Hinkley's audience into mountainous regions of the world in search of plants for the gardens of North America and beyond. Sequim man killed in Kingston wreck identified; head-on crash remains under investigation
Peninsula Daily News - A 28-year-old Sequim man who died in a head-on wreck on state Highway 104 in Kingston on Wednesday night has been identified as Benjamin MacQueen. The State Patrol said MacQueen was driving westbound in a 1994 Toyota Camry when he crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming 1994 Jeep Cherokee driven by James A. Wash. FF Won't be Charged for Fatal Crash
FireHouse.com - March 10--PORT ORCHARD -- The Kitsap County Prosecutor's Office won't file criminal charges against the North Kitsap firefighter who was driving a fire engine that struck and killed a 48-year-old Kingston man July 4. Jason T. Foster was killed when a North Kitsap Fire and Rescue engine, turning from Miller Bay Road to West Kingston Road, collided with his 2006 Yamaha YP400 Majesty scooter. Kitsap County Prosecutor Tina Robinson evaluated the case and "determined there was not sufficient evidence to prove that any crime had been committed," according to a news release from the Prosecutor's Office. Hung jury in Kitsap trial of man accused of killing baby
