Night Owl bus service continues
Northwest Asian Weekly - The King County City Council unanimously approved the agreement to continue the Night Owl buses, routes 82, 83, and 84. Under the agreement, the City of Seattle will pay for the operation of these routes that service many Seattle neighborhoods including Queen Anne, Greenwood, Belltown, Wallingford, and others during 2-4 a.m. Since the ballot measure did not pass for Metro Transit to receive more funds to continue to operate, it will be reducing routes starting in late September. Night Owl service was not cut during the first round of reductions but the City of Seattle agreed to buy the service for people who get off work late or start work early. Read more...

City preserves - Night Owl' bus service
Magnolia News - The King County Council has unanimously approved an agreement between King County Metro Transit and the City of Seattle that assures continued operation of "Night Owl" bus Routes 82, 83 and 84. Under the agreement, the City of Seattle will pay for the continued operation of the routes between 2 and 4 a.m. The routes provide basic transit service to many Seattle neighborhoods, including Greenwood, Green Lake, Wallingford, Fremont, Queen Anne, South Lake Union, Belltown and Downtown. Metro Transit has a funding shortfall, and earlier this year, a ballot measure that would have provided needed funding for transit failed at the polls. Read more...
