Tuesday, May 21, 2013 -- 7:11 am Chimacum school superintendent resigns Port Towsend Leader - Craig Downs has resigned as Chimacum School District superintendent effective June 30. Downs, who became District 49 superintendent in 2010, announced late last week that he had accepted a job as superintendent of a private Christian school in a suburb of Phoenix, Ariz. “[Downs] has done great things for Chimacum schools but the district has been jogging in place for awhile now while we worked through certain issues,” Chimacum School District Board Chair Ted Friedrich told the Leader Monday. “A change in staffing will present a change in pace and I am confident that we can get kicking again.”Read more...
