“Bartell’s Community Food Drive,” supporting Food Lifeline programs kicks off May 28 with all Bartell’s store locations accepting nonperishable food items and cash donations. Scheduled for May 28 to June 10, the drive focuses on replenishing food bank stocks in King, Snohomish & Pierce counties during summer months--when families that normally depend on free or reduced-price school meals may struggle to provide healthy meals at home. Some food item suggestions include tuna, instant oatmeal, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, cheese crackers, applesauce and canned fruit. Other suggested items include baby formula, diapers, baby food (boxes or plastic tubs only) and personal care items such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, tissues, shampoo and conditioner, soap and feminine hygiene products. Owl City
The Triple Door
Owl City’s Adam Young, a 24-year-old small-town Minnesotan who had never been on an airplane until two years ago, has experienced many extraordinary moments over the past 18 months, including calling his mom back home on his cellphone while standing on The Great Wall of China.

Young’s travels came in the wake of the blockbuster success of Owl City’s major-label debut album — the lush, lovingly created Ocean Eyes, which was released by Universal Republic Records in July 2009.
