Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! Opening Saturday, January 26 at the Washington State History Museum, LetÂ’s Ride! Motorcycling the Northwest takes visitors on a journey of discovery to explore the past century of motorcycling, its culture and its communities. Northwesterners have been enthralled with the adventure of riding since the early 1900s, both for business and for pleasure, and the activity has played an important part in shaping our young regionÂ’s history. With nearly two dozen rare machines on display through June 23, 2013, LetÂ’s Ride! Motorcycling the Northwest combines the artistry and science of motorcycles with the history of motorcycling.

The Storybook Ballet Theatre was born from the wild popularity of Tacoma City BalletÂ’s Halloween show, The Haunted Theatre. In response to overwhelming demand for more family-friendly, budget-conscious performances, TCB created Storybook Ballet Theatre. The production delights audiences with short ballets based on classic children's fairy tales, nursery rhymes, proverbs, limericks and fables. The show is designed to keep both young and old enthralled throughout each one-hour performance!

Fleetwood Mac, one of rock's most enduring, beloved and successful bands, will be embarking on a major 34-city US Tour after a three year break beginning April 4th, 2013. The tour was announced today by the group and Live Nation, the tour's national promoter. Fleetwood Mac Live 2013 arena tour includes stops in Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Chicago and a special appearance at the historic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Tickets for the first run of shows go on sale beginning December 14th at Ticketmaster.com.

The two-month exhibit will culminate with the In the Spirit: Northwest Native Arts Market & Festival on Saturday, August 17, 2013.

Each day is dedicated to a different culture with options to sign up for different weeks or for the entire 3-week session beginning July 15 through August 2. We will experience Vietnam, Samoa, Thailand, Philippines, Korea, Hawaii and many other cultures – 15 countries in 15 days! In the Spirit: Northwest Native Arts Market and Festival, the regionÂ’s largest Native American arts event, returns to the Washington State History Museum this summer for the biggest celebration yet. Taking place Saturday, Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the popular outdoor festival will feature a mix of performances by new and returning Native American artists, and for the first time, free museum admission. Festival activities take place inside and adjacent to the museum, located at 1911 Pacific Avenue in downtown Tacoma. Through partnership with The Evergreen State College Longhouse Education & Cultural Center, Native American dancers, musicians and storytellers will perform in the museumÂ’s 300-seat outdoor amphitheater. In the plaza, adjacent to the amphitheater, some of the Pacific NorthwestÂ’s most talented artisans, including weavers, printmakers, carvers, and beaders, will gather to display and sell their exquisite works.
