Group Health Rainier Medical Center
Caring for someone with memory loss? Need support and information? Alzheimer's Association caregiver support groups provide a place for caregivers to learn and gain support from others caring for a person with memory loss. Support groups also serve as an opportunity for participants to receive information on care management, available services, and current research and treatment options. A free support group for unpaid care partners, family members and friends of individuals with memory loss is held the 4th Tuesday of each month from 2:00-3:30pm at Group Health Rainier Medical Center, Conference Room, 5316 Rainier Ave. S., Seattle, WA 98118. Kidney Health Fest for African American Families
Van Asselt Elementary
This event will feature free health screenings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and an educational program from 10 a.m. to noon with Chris B. Bennett of KRIZ/KZIZ Radio as emcee. The day also includes healthy food made by local celebrity chefs, music by Comfort Food and PNW Drum Line, exhibits, and a chance to win prizes. Mercer Island Summer Celebration!
Mercerdale Park and Firehouse
Summer Celebration is a family festival located in the heart of Mercer Island. Events include live entertainment on two stages, children's fun zone, boat rides around the island, Fun Run, fireworks, youth 3 on 3 basketball tournament, car show, food vendors, and arts and craft vendors. Each year is a different theme, 2013 is "It's Magic" where participants will enjoy special magic shows, street performers, and more.
